MEET BRYAN SOMERS

Real Life Experience That Matters

I am Bryan Somers, candidate for District Court Judge for the 30th Judicial District Court, Vernon Parish, Louisiana.

As a combat veteran and retired Army soldier, I bring a unique perspective to the courtroom and unwavering dedication to our community.

My experience in law enforcement has equipped me with the skills to be tough on crime while ensuring that every individual is treated with respect and dignity.

I believe in a judicial system that reflects the values of our local families within our community. I am passionate about protecting the rights of all citizens and ensuring that justice is served fairly and justly for everyone who steps in the courtroom. My vision is to create a courtroom environment where everyone feels heard and valued, and where the rule of law prevails.

Join me on this journey to a better future for Vernon Parish.

About Bryan Somers

Bryan Somers brings a unique blend of experiences to the bench with his military service, law enforcement experience, and his legal experience as a lawyer. His journey into law began after a distinguished career serving both his country and his community.

Shortly after high school, Bryan joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea, Camp Shelby, Mississippi, and Fort Polk, Louisiana, and deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and Cuba—Serving as a Cavalry Scout and CounterIntelligence Special Agent. His military experience shaped his disciplined approach to problem-solving and deepened his commitment to serving others.

Bryan continued his service as a police officer with the Leesville Police Department, where he spent nearly six years, including time as a K9 handler. Serving in law enforcement gave him firsthand insight into the challenges everyday people face—and strengthened his resolve to advocate for them through the legal system.

Bryan’s path to becoming an attorney was driven by his desire to make a broader impact. He earned his law degree from Louisiana State University Law Center in Baton Rouge after completing his undergraduate studies in Public Administration with a Law Enforcement Emphasis at Upper Iowa University, on the Fort Polk campus.

Born and raised in Central Florida, Bryan chose to make Vernon Parish his home in 2001, where he met his wife, Jill. Today, they live in Simpson and have four daughters—Natalie, Katelyn, Hailey, and Ashlyn—who are the center of his world.

He is proud to serve the people of Vernon Parish and surrounding areas and brings the same work ethic and integrity that defined his military and law enforcement careers into every case he touches.
